If there is one player in football who this and last season has not had a lot of luck, is World Cup winning midfielder, Champions League winner, Sami Khedira.

Juventus are already 2 games into the season and have lost them both. Sadly, the performances reflect where they are standing on the table. Khedira is amongst a long list of transfers by Juventus as they start to re-lift the squad losing key players like Pirlo, Vidal, Tevez and Llorente. Khedira is the man for this midfield to give them something ‘alla Pirlo’ and defensive pressure not so much like Vidal but he is up there. Accompanied with the likes of Marchisio and Pogba, this XI will be one force to be reckoned with. So all we can do now is hope for this injury to be gone already and see him fit and firing!

He left Real Madrid last season, and made the move to Turin joining Juventus, we thought, a clean sleight for Khedira and more minutes but a tear on his right thigh has kept him out from making his Juventus debut. As far as we are concerned, during this international break Khedira elected to go about his injury with teaming up with the national team’s medical staff to aid his come back:
As for i juventini we can be rest assured he is more determined than ever to get back as fast as possible because we sure need him in the long run.

Putting aside his misfortunes and fully focusing on the football, Sami Khedira is among the top midfielders in the game, sadly not much recognition out there but in my books he is top. His resume speaks for itself.

VFB Stuttgart II (21) (1)

VFB Stuttgart (98) (14)

Real Madrid (102) (6)

Juventus (0)

Germany (56) (5)

3 clubs for 1 player is a very thing to see nowadays in football. Loyalty is a word thrown way out of context and does not hold the same meaning anymore with money persuading the decision over and over again. Sami Khedira however, is a very loyal man. Starting in the lower ranks at vfB Stuttgart II making his way up to the first team and ranking up an enormous 98 appearances scoring 14 goals. Yes, Khedira is not the biggest goalscorer but when given the opportunity he scores. As Stuttgart decided to let Khedira go it was quite a sending off, “Sami Khedira is a true leader on the pitch and he personifies everything that Stuttgart stand for. Therefore, it’s not easy to let go of him,” said Stuttgart sporting director Fredi Bobic on the official Stuttgart website.

Khedira had an excellent 2010 World Cup which earned him to sign for the Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid on 30 July, 2010. Khedira was not always in the headlines being out shined by the starting XI which was full of star-studded players. Now, Kehdira in the midfield of Real Madrid, he did everything. Tracking back, defending, attacking, creating, assisting and scoring. His talent is undoubtedly immense. As is shown in the 8 minute video highlight reel!  A player like Khedira is very underrated and deserves more credit than given.

Spending 5 years at Real Madrid and winning everything, La Liga, Copa Del Rey, Champions League, Club World Cup and among that, the World Cup in 2014. In November 2013 Kehdira sadly tore his ACL and immediately put his World Cup campaign in doubt, but he was selected into the squad and on the score sheet against Brazil in the 7-1 romping. Although, as timing is not his friend he got injured in the warm up in the final against Argentina.

Real Madrid decided to let Khedira go and Juventus came in knocking. On June 9 2015 Juventus announced they successfully landed the signature of the German penning a four-year deal. Yes he has not played a minute in this season, as he was stretched off in a friendly match against Marseilles on 25′ and Juventus confirmed that it was actually a muscle tear in his right thigh.

We can all vouch for Sami Khedira and talk about how much of an amazing player he is looking back on his career. It is sad however, the injuries he picks up on the way. At 28, we all talk about at this age players are at the peak. Khedira is more determined than ever to come back stronger and I have no doubt in my mind that this season will be his best yet. We cannot say he has a lot to prove to Juventus, he is one of those players in which give their all for the jersey they are wearing. Khedira for Juventus will be huge in the midfield. His passes, his way to slow down the game when the pressure is on, creating chances, scoring goals is exactly what Juventus needs and his authority and experience in the midfield.

Juventus is the perfect club for players to come in and feel like they are at home, and apart of something bigger. A club like Juventus has yes, been through everything and has overcome them. This club will bring back the Sami Khedira of last, mentally this club will help in every way possible, make you feel important and worthy, and for i tifosi, well that speaks for itself. They are something else and when the chips are down, they will never leave you and only cheer even louder.

Forza Sami Khedira and this season will be yours to conquer La Seria A!

In bocca al lupo!
